Small Business Spotlight - New Arrivals at Kathryn Lynn

For this first highlight, I am introducing you to two sisters who started their own clothing boutique. I am very inspired by this dynamic duo of fashion!

Heidi Golden and Stephanie Randolph started Kathryn Lynn boutique back in 2019. Both Heidi and Stephanie are moms and have been able to make this business work despite their busy schedules. Heidi is a mother of two adult children and Stephanie still has three children at home. Stephanie has always loved fashion and styling women. After Stephanie had her second child she found it too hard working a traditional retail job because of the weekend requirements, so she left her job at a large department store to be a stay at home mom. Stephanie really missed working in fashion and approached her sister Heidi about starting a retail clothing business. Collectively they decided they did not want the restrictions of a retail store so they pursued the idea of styling women in their own homes.

The Kathryn Lynn boutique business model primarily focuses on styling appointments. This means they will come style you. They do this by bringing different outfits for you to try on and they will also drop off clothes at your home for you to try.  In addition, they ship nationwide. Heidi and Stephanie carry what is called “bridge wear” in the textile world. It is a style of clothing that is in between fast fashion and couture. The desire behind their business is “for women to have clothing that fits their bodies, personality and lifestyle.”

Heidi and Stephanie know I love a good ruffle. I recently learned that ruffles are somewhat “controversial”. Apparently there are some who love clothing with a ruffle like me, and then there are others who would not wear anything with a ruffle. So, if you fall into the latter camp, please forgive or indulge me for most of the clothes in this post. I love pairing a simple blouse with a nice pair of jeans and then finishing off the look with a pretty necklace or a pair of statement earrings.

Stephanie styled this white blouse for me, with two different outfits so you can see how to style an underpinning like this white ruffle shirt in a couple of different ways. Each of these items is available at Kathryn Lynn (except for the shoes).

Heidi and Stephanie carry many different designers such as Brooke Wright, Finley, and Hinson Wu, to name a few, and they have a wide variety of styles of clothing. They also have several different lines of accessories that include purses and jewelry. I have been extremely impressed with the quality of clothing they sell. Shopping with them could not be easier and if you are in the area, they will come to you. Thank you for joining me on my first small business spotlight! If you need any clothing in the near future check out these two moms who are making a go of it and building a successful small business.
